Thermistor Fault How can I detect it?
October 30 , 2023Briefly Thermistor device fault detection:
1.First, observe the appearance of the thermistor. Potentiometer or thermistor must be clearly marked, solder pads or pins are not corroded, the rotary axis rotation is flexible, appropriate tightness, when turning the feel is smooth, while no mechanical noise and jittery phenomenon.
2.Gently shake the potentiometer lugs or thermistor pins by hand, and there should be no looseness.
3.The multimeter resistance block dial to the appropriate range, and then ohm zero, using two pens (not divided into positive and negative) were connected to the two pins of the resistor, so that the actual resistance value can be measured. Finally, the test value and the nominal value of the resistor for comparison, so that you can determine whether the potentiometer or thermistor is intact. If the multimeter pointer is not moving, then it indicates that the internal resistor body is disconnected.
4.The center pin of a potentiometer or thermistor is connected to its internal active contact. With the multimeter's two pens were connected to the center pin as well as any of the remaining pins, and then slowly rotate the shaft handle, the head pointer needs to move smoothly accordingly. If the pointer has jumped, falling phenomenon, then it shows that the movable contacts and resistor body is poor contact.
